World Cup Group C - Awesome Argentina! (Argentina 6 - Serbia & Montenegro 0)

What an AWESOME display of football! I was left speechless at the end of the game. Argentina are undoubtedly the best team in the tournament so far.

By the half they were cruising with a 3 goal lead, highlighted by an absolutely brilliant team goal by Cambiasso. Their passing and movement without the ball was simply divine. Quite frankly it wasn't that Serbia & Monenegro played badly, they just weren't in the same planet in terms of individual skills and team coordination. Argentina gave them a footballing lesson, that even the spectators probably wouldn't forget in a long long time.

S&M didn't make things any easier for themselves when Kezman was probably harshly sent off by the referee mid way thru the second half. Argentina then brought on the messiahs Tevez and Messi. They have such an incredible squad of players that Tevez and Messi started from the bench. Surely the envy of every team in the tournament.

Tevez scored and outrageous individual goal after Crespo had put Argentina 4-0 up. And shortly before the final whistle, Messi rounded up the scoring by sloting the through ball by Tevez beneath the legs of a desperate Jevric.

Argentina must now surely be the tournament favourites to lift the World Cup. I can't and haven't see any team that can play as confidently on and off the ball as them. The best part is that they make lots of short passes that is not only effective, but pleasing to the eye as well. This is easily the most entertaining team. But as we all probably know, every team needs abit of luck to win the World Cup. My only worry is does Argentina have what it takes to get it done, especially against the better European sides.

In the meantime, let's all celebrate Argentina's progression to the next round, barring some unlikely results.
