Christmas Parties, Champions League Draw and Manucho

Stupid Spoilt Whores
I've been dreading to write about this, but having received a grand total of a whooping 2 emails on the subject (over 66.6% of my readership), I've decided to put my unpopular 2 cents worth on the subject.

As we all know, the news in the past week have been all about our blotched Christmas party organised by our resident party animal, Rio, and the alleged rape by Johnny Evans. What's perhaps more disturbing were the raunchy details that have found their way into the news.

Firstly, I'd just like to say I'm not surprised that Rio was the ring leader of it all, given his legendary 'roasting' stories that have made the news in various forms and different times. While it was probably not his fault that things came to the state that they are now, I still hold him responsible for the aftermath and ultimately tainting the image of Manchester United....once again.

Ferguson reading him the riot act does little to alleviate the tense situation. Rio is a first class dick and has always been. Time and time again, he puts his brain into reverse mode and undoes all the good he has done. Despite his good performances, he somehow manages to find a way to get himself into the negative side of both the news and the fans. I bet, if not for the fact we paid a record fee for him, he'd be shown the door faster that Ruud or Stam. Fucking wanker!

I just wish that the club would have the balls to do the right thing with Rio. I'd rather have a defence that is leaking goals than have this piece of human trash lying around.

As for Johnny Evans, I'll keep my opinions until the evidence finds him guilty. The truth is that it's a matter for the police and the courts to decide based on the evidence gathered. If he's found guilty, by all means throw him to the lions. Rape is a serious crime and the guilty should be punished.

And for the rest of the players, I'll just have to say I'm sorely disappointed, but I understand. I was young once (although no where near as rich). Hopefully they learnt their lesson. Like it or not, they are ambassadors of the club, whether they wear the jersey or not and such behaviour is unbecoming of players of the greatest club on the planet.

Human Trash
And while I'm on the topic of stupid spoilt whores, I might as well add my 2 cents worth to this. Judas extraodinaire, Sol Campbell has been urging the FA to put a stop to abuses against players and managers.

I have nothing against the message. It is a sound and timely one. And about time someone had the balls to bring it up. Racist chants in particular are the most vicious and reflects the type of people attending these games. And Sol Campbell is absolutely right when he says that 'animals don't behave like that'.

Unfortunately, it was the right message, by the wrong person. Of all the people in the world, Sol should be the last person complaining. We're talking about a guy who betrayed his club to join the enemy on a free transfer. And we're not even talking about normal rivals but possibly the greatest rivalry in English football....that of Arsenal and Spurs!

I'm sorry, but Sol deserves every bit of abuse he gets, coz he JUST DOESN'T GET IT! What he did was worse than what animals would do. He bit the hand that fed him and even the most foul of beasts in the animal kingdom wouldn't do it. If there is one piece of human trash that is worst than our own Rio, it's gotta be Sol Campbell. He is the reason the term 'Judas' was coined over 2000 years ago.

Champions League Draw
Now that we're gotta the whole hate-filled venom off my chest, let's move on to more pleasant stuff like the champions league draw which was done a couple of hours ago.

We got picked to face Lyon. Lyon is probably no longer the force they were a few seasons back, but they are still no pushovers. I have every bit of confidence that we will beat them handily and move into the quarters, if we have our heads screwed on correctly.

The other interesting draws are that Liverpool and Arsenal got to face Inter and AC milan respectively. I'll probably be rooting for both Pool and Arse to make it past their Italian opponents only for the sole reason that it should keep them distracted from the Premiership race. Either way, it's good to get two strong clubs out of the way, whichever sides win.

United Signs Manucho
United just signed 24 year old Angolan, Manucho.

Who? Exactly. I'm as clueless as you.

Searches on youtube for 'Manucho' and 'Mateus Alberto Contreiras Goncalves' have drawn up a blank. Maybe when the news gets around, someone would put something up, if only just to tease us.

I can only assume that at his age, he's going to be a player for the present and possibly going to be our fourth striker. The not so good news is that he wouldn't be around in January since he's going to be involved in the African Nations Cup.

I personally would have preferred to have Anelka as the fourth option (or even the third, displacing Saha), but I'll defer to Ferguson's judgement. ;o)

I can't agree more with the first part of your entry. No doubt Rio's a good defender, but he is just one of the spoilt brats that England has raised. Pampered by media attention and the high salary that the club is offering, it is a disgrace to the the club and fans that such a wanker is organising parties for nonsensical purposes. If only the money Rio collected for the party could be donated to the charity and the unfortunate. I'm sure 5K or 10K are peanuts compared to their 150K per week salary.

On Sol Campbell, he's delusional. I'm sure every fan in every ground is now going to single him out from now.

You know....if Sol was born 2000 years ago and Judas today, we'd be calling Judas a 'Sol Campbell'.

@Jiahao,

England seems to be full of Big Time Charlies. Rio and John 'pissing in a cup' Terry spring to mind.

@King,

Sol is a mental case. The worst type to grace the face of this earth. If you've read what he's done in the past with his ex-gfs, you'd know what a pathetic piece of human waste he is.

why is everyone having a go at rio for? ok so he likes to party, who doesn't? you lot are making out as if he is someone who thinks about himself and only himself. may i remind you that he is an ambassador for the princes trust and many other charitable organizations. you people seem to forget that these people are just like you and me...they are human. they are not superior to us, they just earn a shit load of money. yeah rio organised it, but i don't think he organised the party in which ronaldo was accused of rape? or when van persie was accused of rape? footballers are accused of these things by tabloid-grabbing whores. simple as. it was a christmas party, everyone is entitled to have a good time! and why does no-one say anything about john terry and frank lampard being scum? after 9/11, these two, drunk out of there heads, went to an airport and started pretending to be aeroplanes crashing in to stuff.

Very simply...Rio deserves it.

Many famous sports personalities are involved in charity, one way or another. Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and, just retired, Ole are a few famous ones in our team.

For some sports personalities, it's forced upon them by the employers and the organisations they play for. Perhaps the word 'forced' is alittle strong, but you get the drift.

In case you didn't know, the very day after the Christmas debacle, many of our players were involved in visits to children's home and a hospital. It's something the main news did not cover on.

Whether it was a PR move by the club for damage control or they did it out of the goodness of their hearts after a ridiculous night of bingeing is up to you to decide.

Let's just say charity takes on a different meaning when famous people are involved. Some do it for the genuine good, so for the PR it generates.

As for Rio, he's been a dick for the longest time. I'm sure I've written something at some point in time why he's one. I'm too lazy to look for it, but you can use the search function and bring it up. In short, there is every reason to have a go at him. He's 3 strikes were up a long time ago.

And don't let his whole badge kissing charade fool you.

I'll do you a favour and post the entry here.

OK fair enough he's messed up a bit, but without him, we would be absolutley shambollic in defence. you could see that through the fact that when he went off vs derby, they scored. he might have done a few things hes regretted, but then again so have a few of the current squad. you've got players talking about their future, saying where they want to be playing in the near future (ronaldo + tevez) rio was always going to sign that deal, it was all down to his agent or "super-agent" pinni zahavi who is the biggest scum in modern football. he put the talks on hold with united, he took rio to that meeting, but i think rio has his head firmly screwed on now, that whole drugs test thing was a mockery, he said they could perform any test on him, tests which can detect anything in your system from as long as two years. he misses a drugs test and gets 8 months, mutu admits taking drugs and gets an equivalent ban. yeah players do charity through the club, but rio does it by his own accord.

Hello Red_Devil,

Putting the blame on zahavi with that fateful meeting with peter kenyon is a feeble attempt to shift the blame from rio.

Fact: ashley cole met kenyon on jan 05. We all knew how the media and the gooners ripped him apart for it. He was fined on june that year.

Fact: rio met kenyon on april the same year. It can be argued that he was meeting with zahavi, considering how things went with cole the correct thing was to immediately walk away. Instead he sat down for drinks with kenyon in a crowded london restuarant. If he had an ounce of integrity, wild horses couldnt make him stay.

Either rio is incredibly stupid or as spec mentioned, rio is a first class dick. The only thing on his mind is $$$.

I think alot of the fans are just sick and tired of him. It doesnt matter if his head is screwed on right not. It doesnt matter anymore. He has continously tarnished the image of the club. enough is enough.

@Red Devil

True, we probably wouldn't be a defensive juggernaut without Rio. At the same time I could live with a leaky defense. We've survived without Cantona, made it after dumping Stam and won without Ruud. Rio is nothing.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree on our opinions on Rio.

@Harris

Good info. I did a little more reading on Rio's meeting with Kenyon and this little bit stood out for me. Apparently Rio was actually caught twice on the same night at different venues with Kenyon's entourage. That's right...TWICE! Obviously something was smoking then.

I'm totally with you that enough is indeed enough.
